Vintage Indian Kantha Quilt

The Potting Shed  is home to a range of beautiful vintage Indian Kantha quilts. Each one is completely, unique. These quilts are from Kerala in southern India and are made from repurposing old pieces of fabric and saree's to create something useful, new and beautiful. This Kantha is double sided, with a definite stripe to one side comprising of pink's, and yellow and Turquoise.

The reverse a mix of cream and purple and orange and pink.

This one pictured measures 188cm x 152cm

 

These all come with patches, holes, and  repairs which for us, make them what they are. Beautiful objects that have lived, and that have a story to tell.
